Amy Thompson
With integrity and an analytical finance background that includes Real Estate underwriting, Amy Thompson’s unique skills, education, and life experience provide her clients with distinct insights and top-tier service. Specializing in luxury homes on the Eastside, she is an accomplished negotiator whose market knowledge is grounded in fundamentals. Amy’s accreditations include a full-time Master of Business Administration from Richard Ivey, the top-ranked non-U.S. business school in the world. She also offers a wealth of experience beyond real estate that makes her one of the area’s premier brokers. After graduating college, she received an appointment at Goldman Sachs, and soon after obtained a position with Scotiabank, a top five bank in Canada. There, as a sales manager and commercial real estate (CRE) underwriter, she was responsible for the Western Canadian Region and managed a portfolio of over $1 billion. She established a track record of delivering results under high pressure and top-notch customer service to all clients. While Amy enjoyed collaborating with corporations in CRE financing, eventually she found that she truly enjoyed helping a small handful of private owners with their real estate investments.
Clients commend Amy on her strong negotiation skills, hard work, and communication. Her composure in the face of stress is unparalleled and she’s willing to hold a client’s hand as they embark on the journey of listing their home. Her custom marketing plan starts with a walk-through of the home and from there she oversees stagers, landscapers, contractors, and any other personnel it may take to get the home ready. She understands that selling a home is an emotional process and she takes an invitation into someone’s home and life seriously. Finding benefits both for her clients and her marketing plan, she often highlights home features that the client most enjoyed. Utilizing promotional opportunities in print, including media
partners exclusive to Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty, Amy builds an impactful marketing campaign, adding digital and social opportunities, and beyond. Her clients boast that she has negotiated higher sold price for her listings than those of comparable homes in the same subdivision even in down market times.
Having already worked for reputable global leaders on an international scale, for Amy, the move to Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty was a natural decision. Choosing to align with a company that has global reach felt like the right fit for her, who in addition to English, fluently speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese. As a lover of fine art and music, she was also drawn to the brand heritage and legacy of the Sotheby’s Auction House.
Amy grew up in Vancouver, B.C. and as a kid, she and her family would often visit Seattle to shop or catch a Mariners game. Now, her familiarity with Vancouver and its market benefits her clients. She says that the growth the city to the north experienced in 2005 is similar to what’s happening in Seattle, now. Having lived and worked in the real estate sector during that time, she’s able to share unique insight and distill trends for her clients.
The best day of the week, according to Amy, is when she plays music with a worship band for kids. She lives and works in the Bellevue community. She has served as a former elementary school PTSA Treasurer in the Bellevue School District and has also previously volunteered for Grace Children’s and Royal Kids Camp. If you want to get to know her better, Amy encourages her clients to ask her about her past volunteering, her love of sports, and climbing Mt. Everest.
